Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This policy explains what data Aria collects, why, and the controls you have. We designed Aria so that companionship feels personal without your privacy being the price. We comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian law.

2. What we collect

• Chat messages — the messages you send and the replies generated, used to produce responses and maintain conversation continuity.
• Companion memory — small facts a companion saves to personalise conversations (e.g. your name, likes, moments you shared). You can view and delete each fact, or all of them, at any time.
• Profile basics — the display name you choose and a random device identifier. We do not require your real name, email, or phone number to chat.
• Age confirmation — a flag that you confirmed you are 18+, stored on your device. We do not store your date of birth.
• Billing data — handled by our licensed payment processor. We never see or store your card details; we receive only an order reference and payment status.

3. What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your data or your conversations. Ever.
• We do not use your chats for advertising.
• We do not share conversations with third parties except the AI processing providers needed to generate replies, bound by confidentiality obligations, or where required by law.

4. Your controls

• Memory view & delete — each companion has a "Her memory" page listing every stored fact with a delete button, plus a delete-everything option.
• Delete my data — one button on the account page removes your local data and instructs our servers to erase your conversation history and memory across all companions.
• Report — any companion message can be reported; reports are reviewed by our safety team.

5. Retention and security

Conversation data is retained while you use the Service and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request, except where limited records must be kept for legal, tax, or safety reasons. Data is encrypted in transit, and access inside the company is restricted to staff who need it for safety review or support.

6. Children

Aria is strictly for adults 18+. We do not knowingly process data of anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data immediately.

7. Grievances and contact

Grievance Officer: Grievance Officer, grievance@aria.chat (full details on our Contact page). We acknowledge privacy complaints within 48 hours and resolve within the timelines set by the DPDP Act. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.
